The NBA's First Ever NFT Activation With Renown Artist Krista Kim

Announced on Thursday, September 2, Utah Jazz will be the first professional sports program in the world to pair a digitally designed Non-Fungible Token (NFT) with premiere access into a virtual locker room. It also includes a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will give the owner the opportunity to interact with Jazz legends in a unique digital environment designed by NFT artist Krista Kim. Our assignment was three-fold: Brand Utah Jazz XR, Educate and enroll consumers into the digital wallet platform, and drive sales for the first activation. With limited real player access to create content (to avoid issues with NBA), we pulled in 3D artist Ali Dawood whose work helped create "Jazz" a new character that could tell our story across all promotional channels. The intense efforts of our team became evident through the rapid development, impressive scale, and immense success that this campaign achieved across every NBA arena - earning the recognition of NBA leadership for its creativity and high-end finish. The first Jazz NFT collectible was made available to the public at 10 a.m. MST on Tuesday, Sept. 7 and sold out in 90 minutes.
